My husband, David and I have had the absolute pleasure of working with Barbara Ford & Associates for over 5 years now and continue doing so.

I can give my very highest recommendation of Barb and her team. Barb truly listens and takes time to understand preferences, style, and logistical needs. Since I wanted to work around some art, and furniture I already had, I imagine her job was more challenging than when starting from a blank slate. She brought not only creativity, expertise and a good sense of practicality, but joyfulness and inspiration into her work with us. She worked closely with us to design custom nightstands as well as built-in cabinets, a window seat, and fireplace in our master suite which had several alcoves in desperate need of inspiration. I sincerely had SO MUCH FUN working with her to choose fabrics, wall coverings, colors & accents for the different projects! The people she engaged to complete the various tasks were all highly competent & a pleasure to work with. Barb Ford is unique in the industry. She has been in the business for a few housing cycles. She has learned to adapt to changing times, styles, and of course budgets. Elliott Homes has a long history with Barb Ford, so she was a natural choice Elliott Reserve. Not because it would (be) the same old, same old, but because her personality, work ethics, and design goals reflected our own. She since started working with Elliott Homes, her business has grown and morphed from typically production to uber end luxury home design. She lives and works in Solana Beach, outside San Diego, CA. The area is a design mecca with manufacturers literally down the street. She has access to the latest designs and industry knowledge which are not available to local designers in Sacrament, CA. Barb focuses heavily on the floorplan and the buyer profile in her designs.

As a general rule, I do not like working with interior designers. However this rule does not apply to Barbara Ford! Unlike some designers, Barbara listens to her clients. She does not push her own design aesthetic but instead works in conjunction with her clients to bring their vision to fruition. Several years ago my husband (an architect) and I were building our dream home. Barbara worked closely with us on everything from flooring to paint, furniture to window coverings. In making our vision a reality she found extraordinary pieces, designed built-ins, coordinated contractors and basically had a hand in every detail of making our home the sanctuary we had envisioned. We built a house but Barbara made it a home. On a personal note, Barbara is incredibly patient, warm and funny. In addition to her design expertise, she brings enthusiasm and joy to her craft. She continues to be the only designer I will work with and refer to friends and clients.

Barb was a life-saver for a new single Dad who wanted to redo his upstairs and downstairs to start over with a new look to his 15 year old house. She redesigned the large master bath picking out the colors, tile, fixtures, mirrors, accessories. We put a double headed steam bath in the Master. She also helped design the staircase and cabinet upgrades along with new built-in’s throughout the house. She also picked out the furniture, tables, window coverings and accessories throughout the house. She was upfront about the cost and worked within my budget, a true professional.

I wanted a designer who was really user friendly because I had no idea what I really wanted to do. We remodeled our home and I wanted everything new. Barb Ford was able to mix both my husband’s traditional ideas with my more contemporary ones without getting a divorce! Barb has so many resources and is so professional. All our furniture, rugs, window coverings, bedding and pillows are the best quality. She helped us decide on our flooring, wall color, tile and carpet. She never overwhelmed us with choices, she absolutely nailed what I loved and the whole experience was fun instead of challenging. We just love our new home, I cannot believe it is ours!
